Obviously VM is better than Hackintosh. I dont know whats your experience with hackintosh, but this is a difficult thing to do. Almost you need a week learning curve. Another problem is hardware compatibility. After setup there will be lots of issues in most of the cases. I don't know your hand in experience. Just go and have a look.
